BAPTISM

Raised to Life

Becoming baptized is the initial step to take once you’ve become a Christian — it’s whereby we exercise our faith in Jesus publicly. During baptism, we identify with Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection & raising to the new life we have in Christ. The old is gone, and the new has come!

When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace — a new life in a new land! (Romans 6:4, MSG)

Come on in, the water’s fine! Request a date to be baptized.

FAQ

If you believe Jesus died for you, rose from the grave, and that you now have a clean standing with God because of what Jesus completed, you’re able to be baptized. Many people think they require stopping habits or displaying more commitment before taking this action, but that’s not accurate. We don’t become worthy of baptism by doing the right things — we get baptized because we believe.

If you’ve obtained baptized already, getting baptized once again is ok. You’re welcome to do so if you believe it will hold significance to you. Like married couples who may want to renew their marriage vows, becoming baptized can reaffirm your faith once more. The vow renewal, however, isn’t somehow more “real” than the initial wedding ceremony. You may understand more about yourself now and progress in your knowledge of God since then, yet it doesn’t disregard the authenticity of that initial encounter.

Bring:

  • A towel
  • A pair of shorts
  • Something to place wet clothes in after baptism
  • Family & friends

We believe baptism is an individual declaration by the person receiving baptism. It’s best if the person is old enough and capable of displaying their faith in Jesus for themselves. We suggest that your child be 12 or older and wants to exercise this step of faith; you are more than welcome to sign them up.

Congratulations, you exercised your faith publicly. We’re delighted to celebrate this milestone with you. We’d encourage you to keep taking steps forward in your spiritual increase.
